Minstead W.I.

We meet the second Wednesday of every month in the Village Hall at 8.00pm. We would like to welcome everyone to become a member of an unconventional W.I. who do not make jam but are interested in a wide variety of speakers and events.

MINSTEAD MILLENNIUM BOOK

In 1954 Minstead W.I. entered a competition to produce a scrapbook about a village. Mistead’s contribution was awarded a ‘highly commended’ and the original is still in our possession.

Approximately 5 years ago it was decided to up date the original book and we are proud to say that in February 2000 the new Minstead Scrapbook has been produced. Much research, studying photographs and talking with residents old and new have been the basis of the new book.

We are proud to have original illustrations from Chris Ware, Ian Rogerson and Berry Stone; the written work has been done by Janet McCarraher, Liz Green and Kate Tyrrell. We could not have managed without the help and humour of the village residents.

The book is on sale in the village for £12.50 with £2.50 for post and packing. Any profits made will go to Minstead Training Project.
