After
a long time campaigning, and bringing the first trial DSL service to
But
the campaigning will go on, because we’re falling behind again. You may well
have read about “Local Loop Unbundling” and the bringing of ADSL services up to
21Mbps/second. We are seeking them out, but no service provider is planning to
bring such services to
So we
setup a small local reseller to keep the people we’d met together as a buying group,
New Forest Community Broadband, at www.nfcb.co.uk. We’re trying to build a large
local buying group, so that we can offer these connections to the company which
will bring the best level of service to our area.
Not just BT! - Other Suppliers' Broadband:
The business case for enabling of broadband is based around cost & revenue per cluster of people using copper or fibre, or satellite or terrestrial wireless, rather than any fixed user count, so we are actively taking the collective demand of our communities to those suppliers, together with some description of the balance of business & public sector & home users, and their types of use. If we can show a recurring revenue stream of over £20,000 per year in a given area, then some of the alternative services providers become interested.

The minimum details in the shaded green are required for any registration to be recognised. The further details are very useful when approaching alternative service providers, and to those who may make grants, and give me the chance to stay in touch with you about our progress.
